Main Arena Facilities 2012

Festival Arena

There are two stages located within the main arena, the mainstage and the second stage, which is a more intimate space. Both are covered structures.

Music is scheduled with staggered timings over the two stages to start as follows:

Thursday 7pm (doors 6.30pm)
Friday 2pm (doors 1.30pm)
Saturday 2pm (doors 1.30pm)

Bars

There will be two bars on site this year. The main bar, which is located at the bottom of the green between the two stages, serves a range of beers, ciders, wines, and spirits.

Our all new cocktail bar, "Julie's", can be found at the far top of the green. Here you can share a bottle of champagne or a pitcher of Pimms with friends with a fabulous view over the festival site and the harbour.

Both bars operate a token only system. Tokens, which will buy you one drink, are priced at £3.60, and can be bought from our token booths onsite. The token booths are located within the main site, one on the route into the green beside the mainstage with the other beside the main bar.

We will operate Challenge 25 so if bar staff do think that you look under 25 you will be asked for proof of age.

Catering

Festival Arena

There is a fabulous range of onsite catering this your to tantalise the taste buds. Freshly caught fish and shellfish, organic wholefoods, burgers, steak and chips, hog roast, churros and chocolate, Thai café, and ice creams.

The catering stalls are situated at the top of the green between the main tent and the cocktail bar. They operate on a cash only basis.

Soft Drinks

Soft drinks, tea, coffee and hot chocolate can be bought from most of the catering concessionaires.

Retailing

There will be a dedicated retailing tent carrying a range of festival goodies; t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, bags glow sticks, and artist merchandise where available.

Artists are offered the opportunity to provide CD signings following their performance to enhance your festival experience so keep your ears peeled on the night.

Zero Waste on site

We have set ourselves ambitious targets to reduce our environmental impact on the grounds and waste to landfill. Our hardworking green team will be on site during the festival to make sure that we do what we can to meet these targets but we need your help.

Waste streams are:

  1. Plastic / Cans - all plastic bottles (e.g. cider, lager, soft drinks and water), and empty drinks cans. Please note that drinks served from the bar are in biodegradable cornstarch cups which should go into the organic waste stream.
  2. Organic - food waste, paper or cardboard packaging and beer cups
  3. Residual - anything else not in the other two categories.

There will be recycling points around the site all clearly marked and we would ask that you take care to use these correctly. One bad apple in the wrong place spoils the whole barrel so please do what you can to help and tell others too!

Macmillan Cancer Care

Volunteers from this charity will be assisting with disabled access within the festival arena. They are also raising vital funds so please be generous if you see them out and about.
