Orcadian based 8 piece, hailed as one of the highlights of Hebcelt in 2008, went onto scoop the title of ‘Band of the Year’ at the Scot Trad Music Awards last year.
Take a riot of fiddles, 2 1/2 stone of accordion, clanky banjo, sprinkle guitar on top and other things - drums and percussion to taste, a bit of bass, go on a bit more, a pinch of salt, half a teaspoon of fun, then mix it all up, and play it loud.
We had to have them back again or there would have been an outcry!
The Chair is Gavin Firth (guitar), Fionn Macarthur (fiddle), Bob Gibbon (accordion), Brian Cromarty (banjo and vocals), Chas Milne (bass guitar), Erik Laughton (drums), Douglas Montgomery (fiddle and mandolin) and Robbie Thomson (percussion).
