This duo has been together for three and a half years since meeting at Ethno Sweden. Shona who is from Hawthorn, Co Durham is a student of the folk and traditional music degree, which is run by the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, and Damien who was one of the first graduates of the same music degree in 2005, comes from Coleraine, Co Derry, Northern Ireland.
Shona is one of the leading piano accordionists in the country and Damien is an outstanding tenor banjo player and guitarist as well as being hailed as 'one the finest singers around'.
An extremely gifted pairing, this instrumental and vocal duo play an array of traditional and self penned tunes and songs originating and influenced mainly from the Irish tradition creating a sound which is exhilarating, passionate, skilful and unique.
Shona and Damien will also be appearing at Seallam! In Northton, Harris on Thursday evening.
