Mary Ann Kennedy and Na Seòid
The word 'super-group' is perhaps bandied about all too readily nowadays, but no other word seems appropriate to describe Mary Ann Kennedy & Na Seóid, which translated from the Gaelic means 'The Heroes'.
Multi award winning singers and musicians one and all, Mary Ann describes the groups as "a gathering of Gaeldom's young lions". And what a gathering it is, as the group features not only Mary Ann herself, a double Mod gold medal winner, but also James Graham (the first Gael to win the prestigious BBC Scotland 'Young Traditional Musician of the Year); Norrie MacIver (Bodega), Normod MacArthur (the 2006 Seann-Nós Gold Medal winner) Gillebride MacMillan, Calum Ailig MacMillian, Angus MacPhail (Skippinish) and Griogair Labhruidh.
The group's debut album to be released in April is already attracting national and international interest. This is one gathering of Gaels not to be missed at any cost.
