The Chair - Friday
Put together for the Orkney Folk Festival in 2004, The Chair have gone from strength to strength, bringing their high energy "stomp" music to the dance floors of the Northern Isles and mainland Scotland ever since.
Playing high profile support slots, through to their own headline gigs, they have set the floor alight wherever they have appeared with a wickedly powerful dance vibe. Danny Awards winners at 2007 Celtic Connections Festival, they returned triumphant this year releasing their debut album 'Huinka!' and are all set for a busy year on the festival circuit.
The Chair is Gavin Firth (guitar), Fionn Macarthur (fiddle), Bob Gibbon (accordion), Brian Cromarty (banjo and vocals), Chas Milne (bass guitar), Erik Laughton (drums), Douglas Montgomery (fiddle and mandolin) and Robbie Thomson (percussion).
