Griff are a young Flemish band that unites the sounds of bagpipes, flute and one remarkable voice. Traditional yet renewed at the same time, their driving rhythm section provides attentive and inventive accompaniment adding colour and dynamics to a band guided by intuition, rather than by conventions.
A debit self-titled album released in 2005 built a strong following in their Flanders homeland and led to tours of Belgium, Holland, Italy and further afield. Hebcelt's eagerly awaited debut is their first foray into the UK.
The band is Rémi Decker (bagpipes, low whistle) Birgit Bornauw: (bagpipes), Raphaël de Cock (uileann pipes, low whistles, voice, Sara Salverius (diatonic accordion), Maarten Decombel (guitar) and Benny Van Acker (double bass).
