The multi award winning HebCelt Festival have teamed up with Black Bay Studio to offer an exciting opportunity for an up and coming artist(s) to take the next step in their career.

On offer is:

  • A performance slot on the Islands Stage on Friday, 20th July
  • £500 expenses for any and all expenses in relation to your performance
  • Passes to enjoy the rest of HebCelt
  • A day recording time in the Black Bay Studio plus overnight accommodation. This can run concurrently with this performance opportunity or at another time to be arranged.

Who can apply?

The competition is open to any young band or performer playing a genre of music that reflects the general programming of the festival.

All participants should be aged between 18 and 25 at the time of the event in July.

How can I apply?

To enter, you need to prepare a promotional pack in electronic format that really sells your music to the judges. You must include:

  1. At least one high resolution photo and your biography
  2. Links to good quality recordings of your music – 3 tracks that show your repertoire to its fullest potential
  3. Video of ‘live’ performance (optional)

The deadline for all submissions is midnight on Saturday, 14th April.

Terms & Conditions

  • You will receive an acknowledgement that your submission has been received.
  • The winning artist(s) will be informed by Friday, 27th April.
  • You must be available for the performance slot which is on Friday, 20th July on the Islands Stage in the festival arena.
  • The winning artist(s) will be responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements if required.
  • The Festival / Black Bay Studio will arrange booking of the recording time
  • Winning artist(s) assist must with promoting across a variety of media
  • No further correspondence will be entered into and the judges’ decision is final.

CalMac Daily ferry travel to and from the Isles. The main ferry to Lewis is from Ullapool on the mainland but can also be reached through Harris from Skye or North Uist.
