HebCelt Festival smashes records with £4.4m boost to island economy

Top Scots music festival HebCelt boosted the Outer Hebrides economy to the tune of £4.4million after a record breaking financial performance. This year’s four-day celebration, which featured Lulu, Tidelines and Skerryvore as headliners in July, generated £400,000 more income for the area compared with its 2024’s event, and was up by almost £700,000 on 2023.

New look bars, investment in tap and go technology, enhanced family fun areas and events, more shows outside the main arena, plus pop up box offices driving sales, and several new sponsorship deals, all contributed to the uplift.

Laura Silverstone: I feel like my feet have barely touched the floor

“I feel like my feet have barely touched the floor since the album came out,” laughs Laura Silverstone, “It's been busy, it's been lovely, I feel really grateful.”

Little wonder. That crowdfunded album -Heartwood - has just been added to the list of those eligible for this year’s Scottish Album of the Year Awards. She’s completed two European tours, played the US for the first time, reached the live televised final of Spain’s Got Talent, and performed at Celtic Connections.
