At HebCelt, we take the protection of our visitors, volunteers, staff and arena very seriously. We have a raft of measures in place to ensure that you can enjoy the festival safely.

How do we keep our visitors safe?
Our Security Practices
At HebCelt, the safety and wellbeing of everyone attending the festival is our top priority. Our security measures include:

24/7 security presence across the site, including regular internal and external patrols and monitored CCTV coverage

Dedicated security staff positioned at all entry and exit points

Search and screening procedures for all attendees, staff, and volunteers, including bag checks and use of appropriate detection equipment

Sniffer Dogs in attendance

Searches of the festival arena and surrounding areas

Close daily collaboration with local police and partner agencies to share information and maintain awareness

Ongoing monitoring of social media and other sources to stay informed of emerging risks or trends

Our Training
A key part of keeping HebCelt safe is our dedicated community of staff and volunteers, who receive training and regular briefings on safety and security.
- Training for staff and volunteers is delivered by Police Scotland Counter Terrorism Officers, with additional input from our Head of Security and Resilience and national security bodies.
- We receive up-to-date guidance and threat information from Police Scotland, Counter Terrorism Department.
- Customer-facing staff and security teams are trained in protective security, counter-terrorism awareness, and emergency response procedures
- Daily briefings ensure all teams are informed of the latest safety and security updates
- Communications staff are trained in security-minded communications to support clear and responsible messaging
- All staff are trained in fire safety, evacuation, and invacuation procedures, supported by 24/7 monitored systems
Working Together with the Police
HebCelt works closely with Police Scotland, including Counter Terrorism Security Officers and Behavioural Detection Officers to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Uniformed police patrols operate both in and around the festival site
- We maintain a strong relationship with local policing teams and take part in ongoing information sharing
- As part of our Safety Advisory Group, we receive guidance from senior police representatives
- We collaborate with local partners and agencies to support a coordinated and informed approach to safety
What can I bring into the Festival?
For safety reasons, we ask that you bring a minimum amount of personal possessions with you, limited to:
- personal effects
- sealed soft drinks bottles, food or water
- Bags of all sizes will be subject to search at the main entrance
Personal cameras are welcome at the festival; however, professional cameras with detachable lenses are not permitted.
No glass bottles, cans, alcohol, fireworks, drones, laser pointers, pyrotechnics, flags, banners, poles or other similar articles may be taken into the festival site, or any other items which could cause damage to our fabric or harm to others.
Offensive, politically motivated or protest signs, banners or display equipment are forbidden. Any such items found will be confiscated and the person refused entry or ejected from the venue without a refund.
If a visitor arrives here with any illegal items (for example, pepper spray, weapons or knives), we will call the police immediately.
