A joint venture between EDF power solutions UK and Ireland and ESB, Lewis Wind Power is developing the Stornoway Wind Farm, a significant renewable energy project that will contribute to Scotland's Net Zero ambitions while creating meaningful opportunities for local communities.
The project has been designed with community benefit at its heart, including the opportunity for up to 20% community ownership, a community benefit fund worth up to £1 million per year, and a commitment to maximising opportunities for local suppliers and businesses during construction.
That commitment to the islands extends well beyond renewable energy. For more than a decade, Lewis Wind Power has invested in local organisations through its annual sponsorship fund, supporting local events, skills development and initiatives that help strengthen the social and economic fabric of the Outer Hebrides.
At HebCelt, Lewis Wind Power's support can be seen across the festival site. As the proud sponsor of the Islands Stage, they help bring to life a vibrant showcase of traditional, contemporary and genre-blending music, celebrating the very best of island talent alongside artists from across the Celtic nations and beyond.
Their support also extends to our 1pt Eco Cups, helping us reduce single-use waste while encouraging festival-goers to make more sustainable choices. It's another example of how our partnership reflects a shared commitment to protecting the environment while delivering an outstanding festival experience.
