Micheal Steele and Pàdruig Morrison have been performing together for over 15 years, mostly with Uist based band Beinn Lee which they co-founded and with whom they have released two studio albums.
HebCelt provides Micheal and Pàdruig with their first festival performance as a duo.
Their music is steeped in a west coast style and their repertoire is heavily influenced by the piping and Gaelic traditions.
Micheal from South Uist and Pàdruig from Grimsay are both fluent Gaelic speakers and have been immersed in Gaelic culture and the language all their lives which has given them a deep and respectful understanding of island identity; the tunes, the songs, the place, and its people.
Not only does their combination of Highland pipes, accordion and flutes provide a true Highland and west coast sound, it has a modern flair with new compositions and exciting arrangements throughout.
For their HebCelt appearance they will be accompanied on piano by Rory Matheson from Assynt.
