First acts on HebCelt 2024 star-studded bill announced

Award-winning Lewis music festival HebCelt has revealed the first batch of incredible artists on its line up for 2024, with general weekend tickets on sale from 10am tomorrow, Friday 24th November.

Early bird tickets for next year’s edition of the beloved festival, which is set to take place from 17th – 20th July 2024 in the picturesque grounds of Lews Castle in Stornoway, sold out in a record time of three hours this summer.

Keen festival-goers from around the world, as well as local dedicated music lovers, are set to flock to Stornoway to enjoy the star-studded line up for 2024 and now have the chance to get their hands on weekend tickets.

Scottish alternative rock legends Del Amitri are set to take one of the prized headline slots at the festival, with acclaimed genre-defying Irish musician Sharon Shannon, and winners of the 2022 MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards Album of the Year Elephant Sessions also joining the HebCelt bill for what is shaping up to be a sensational weekend of music and culture.

Local electro-Celtic band Face The West are set to perform to a home crowd and celebrated indie-soul outfit Brownbear will also take to the HebCelt stage. Award-winning Scottish trad group Kinnaris Quintet and Isle of Skye electro-trad duo Valtos also join the bill, along with Gaelic singer Katie Macfarlane, who recently released her debut album, and up and coming Glasgow indie-rock duo Low Light Listening Lounge.

Artists are set to travel to the Outer Hebrides from near and far. Also performing in 2024 are Canadian traditional fiddle and step dance group The Lumber Jills, Dumfries-based band The Lucky Doves, whose original songs combine indie, Americana, rock and folk, and celebrated fusion group Mec Lir. They will be joined by up-and-coming Scottish duo The Laurettes, and Manchester indie-folk group The Deep Blue.

Completing the first wave of acts are talented Gaelic group Sian and The Willie Campbell Band, fronted by the esteemed Lewis singer-songwriter, with even more acts to be announced in the coming months.

HebCelt Artist Programmer, Michelle Shields, said: "We are delighted to reveal the first wave of artists who will be joining us at HebCelt 2024, which the team aims to make our best yet. We remain deeply appreciative of the unwavering support we receive from our community and loyal festival goers. We were truly overwhelmed with the response to our early bird ticket release earlier this year – they flew out the door! If you want to join us next summer, I would recommend snapping up your weekend tickets very soon.”

HebCelt 2024 will take place from 17th – 20th July. General weekend tickets will be on sale from 10am, Friday 24th November. For more information visit: www.hebceltfest.com.
